The Demers FXP174 is a groundbreaking Type 1 ambulance designed for progressive, forward-thinking departments. Purpose-built from the ground up, it blends advanced technology with ergonomic design to protect crews, support patients, and drive performance in the most demanding environments.

At the heart of the FXP174 are the FX Action Seats, a first-of-its-kind seating innovation engineered for first responders. Featuring one-click 4-point seatbelts, these seats allow medics to remain safely buckled while stabilizing themselves with their legs, freeing their hands for patient care. Positioned near the stretcher and key equipment, they minimize strain and reduce risk while enhancing mobility and access.

The FXP174's Whelen exterior lighting package is completely unique to the new ambulance model. It features fully-customizable flash patterns, and standard traffic advisor functionality. This ensures crews are highly-visible when it matters most. The sleek, yet eye-catching design is nearly flush with the exterior walls. This prevents the lights from being damaged by tree limbs or other obstacles.

Increasingly popular in ambulance design, the FXP174 features a door-forward side entry to the module. Combined with the FXP174's large 174" module length, the interior of the module is larger than any other Type 1 ambulance available today. The door-forward design creates extra usable space in the module, and adds easy-to-reach storage by relocating the ALS cabinet closer to the EMS providers.

With the ingenuity of the FX action seats, the seatbelts are contained within the seats' backrest. This removes the neat for seatbelt retention in the sidewall. That allows additional windows to be installed on both the curbside and streetside of the module. This makes an already large ambulance feel even bigger.

Due to the new lighting package, less space is needed for each individual light. As a result, we can increase the hight of the module's rear doors. This prevents EMS personnel, patients, and anyone else in the back of the ambulance from hitting their head as they enter or exit the ambulance via the rear doors.

The small, square passthrough windows seen in every other ambulance today limits the visibility and communication between the front and back. The FXP174 removes this barrier by tripling the width of the passthrough window. Additionally, the window is powered via a switch on the controls screens in the module and cab.
